RoboCup Japan Open 2021@Home DSPL Winner

The RoboCup Japan Open 2021@Home Domestic Standard Platform League (DSPL) was held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 9th to 12th, 2022. Hibikino-Musashi@Home won both the competition and the Technical Challenge.

In the RoboCup@Home DSPL competition, participants compete in accuracy and speed to clean up a messy room using the Human Support Robot (HSR) developed by Toyota Motor Corporation. In the Technical Challenge, each team will show the results of their research through robot demonstrations.

In the Technical Challenge, Hibikino-Musashi@Home demonstrated an adaptive action planning based on mental simulation of an interactor using the reservoir computing. This demonstration is one of the applications of the reservoir chip being developed in this project. Introducing the reservoir chip into a robot system will allow us to implement the fast and ultra-low-powered action planning of a robot. The application to the service robot for home use is one of the most important goals in this project, and we are pursuing development and research of a combination of soft robotics, reservoir chips and actual robots.
